It has come to Purolator’s attention that some customers have received an email that appears to be from a Purolator account. At least one fraudulent email has been received by customers (see example below) and indicates that Purolator has a shipment that was left at our office and that they must confirm their address by downloading the receipt of the parcel:

The delivery failed because no one was present at the shipping address, so this notification was sent automatically.
You can rearrange delivery by visiting the closest Purolator Post office location with the printed shipping invoice mentioned below.
If the parcel is NOT arranged for redelivery or picked up within 72 hours, it will be shipped back to the sender.

This email, and any others like it, are not from Purolator. Our email address is being spoofed, which is the sending of email messages with a forged sender address. We don’t know where these messages are originating from, but it is likely part of a phishing campaign.
Prior to opening an email, if you are suspicious about the validity or origin of an email from Purolator, please contact us by telephone at 1 888 SHIP-123 to verify that someone from Purolator sent it. If you received a spoofed email, please do not click on links or open attachments in emails from unknown sources and delete the email immediately.
If you have clicked a link or opened an attachment and you feel your computer is at risk of infection, your best defense is to keep your browser, operating system, and applications up to date, and to run updated anti-malware software.
If you have received such an email please report it to your local police agency and/or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
